Reviewing FAQ

Can I send you my book to review?

Great! I’m so excited that you’re interested in having me review your new book!

Here’s a bit about how to get your book reviewed on my blog. I already have a NetGalley account, so let me know if your book is available there. I can receive eARCs formatted for Kindle, that’s usually a .mobi file, or get in touch to mail a paperback. I can’t usually read PDFs with a lot of formatting because I turn the text size up on my Kindle.

I love reading ARCs! I write solid reviews here and I share my posts on Twitter, Facebook, GoodReads, Pinterest, etc. But receiving an ARC does not guarantee I’ll review the book, that I’ll post the review tomorrow, or that I’ll review it positively.  (Let’s be real, leaving a book lying around near me pretty much guarantees I’ll read it.)

Will you review my book on a certain date?

If you’re looking for a review on a specific date, or a review with specific art or promo hashtags included, I offer expedited reviews, which mean that I’ll read it, review it, and post the review quickly or on a specific date to go with the rest of your book marketing campaign.  All reviews posted here are my real opinion.

Will you give me an automatic five-star Amazon review?

Nope.

My book is about ancient Rome / Jane Austen / China / time travel / Hawaii / magical schools / international genre fiction, or some crossover of these, would you —

YES, I WANT TO READ IT. Email me right now.

My book has gore and a lot of violence.

My book is written without punctuation.

General:

I include an Amazon link on all my reviews, so if a reader decides to buy the book, I’ll get a small commission. But reader can also just copy the title and request them from the local library and if lots of people come read my blog and everyone requests books every single time I post, then the public library might be able to stay open an extra hour or two, and that’s pretty great too.
